ALEXIA MOHABIR is a designer, artist and game dev in NYC with a passion for storytelling and community building. Alexia has a B.S. in Computer Art from SUNY Oneonta, where they studied fine arts, observational drawing and graphic design to create a range of work that is expressive, colorful and fun.
They have helped grow a number of community spaces and love to work both independently and collaboratively on projects that make a positive impact. They work as Community and Merch Manager at the non-profit, Game Devs of Color. On the side, they make games at Star Yolk Games and run woeandgrow, a wholesome design and merch shop, selling pins, patches and more both online and at in-person events. Additionally, they have freelanced designing logos, branding and illustration work for a range of clients, including Nordstrom x Converse and Corsair.
They also create comics where they love to explore themes of fantasy, identity and emotion. They have participated in comic anthologies and zines and have had their work published in Dirty Diamonds and Latines Dibujan HÉROES.
They have also done a number of talks and presentations on community management, marketing and more:
